long time scanner from richmondhill ny,,,always had radio shack mobile scanners from1990-present....5 years ago moved to levittown ny i am looking for a new base scanner to get going again as strong as before

well ,,after reading many reviews i went ahead and ordered the bct-15 ...with hometown programming ...it will take about 2 weeks to get.... i'll be  around!!!!!!!!!!

well i got my scanner a few short weeks ago....its mostly for my wife who is home 24/7. she puts it on when i go to work at 4;30 am and has it on until she goes to sleep. when i come home at 4 or 5 pm i have all the days events reported to me ...she hears everything for 40 miles around ,,,thousand of frequencies here on long island and i get all the way to new york city.   its a great scanner with great  range. i had them program all of nassua county around me for 65 $ ,,,and since then i put in hundreds of other around the city... dont forget we have 41, 000 police officers alone............ wow;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;Commands 76 Precincts
12 Transit Districts
9 Housing Police Service Areas
Police cars 3000+
Police boats 9
Helicopters 7
Horses 120
Dogs 31 German Shepherds
3 Bloodhounds
