Since I found out that the BCT-15 is not digital, I am now looking at the Radio Shack PRO 2096 or the GRE PSR-600 which are both digital. The PSR-600 is triple trunking.

I live in Phoenix, AZ and I am wondering is the triple trunking realy necessary?

Not really.

Go with the BCD396T or the Pro 96. Either handheld. You will like taking it with you mobile.
